Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has officially announced that May 10 will be observed every year as “Yom-e-Ma’rakah-e-Haq” (Day of Battle for Truth), commemorating the successful execution of Operation Bunyān al-Marsūs by the Pakistani Armed Forces. This announcement comes in the wake of Pakistan’s strong and effective response to Indian aggression, marking a significant military achievement and a moment of national pride.
A Decisive Response to Indian Aggression
Following a series of Indian provocations, Pakistan launched Operation Bunyān al-Marsūs as a defensive but powerful military campaign. The operation, carried out on May 10, successfully targeted and dismantled the enemy’s key defensive infrastructure. This operation was the culmination of ongoing skirmishes and rising tensions between April 22 and May 9, which have now collectively been named the “Battle for Truth.”
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was a direct response to India’s unjustified military aggression and the ruthless killing of Pakistani civilians. The Pakistani military had vowed to bring justice and avenge the blood of its people — a promise that, as ISPR stated, has now been fulfilled with unwavering resolve and precision.
National Unity and Tribute to the Armed Forces
In his statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that May 10 will be celebrated each year with great enthusiasm and a strong sense of national unity. He praised the bravery, professionalism, and dedication of the Pakistan Armed Forces, stating that their heroic actions have brought pride and honor to the nation. He called the operation a shining example of courage, tactical brilliance, and loyalty to the homeland.
The Prime Minister also highlighted that the observance of this day will serve as a reminder of Pakistan’s unwavering stance against aggression and its commitment to defending its sovereignty. It will be a day to honor those who stood firm in the face of danger and successfully protected the nation’s dignity and peace.
May 16 Declared as “Day of Gratitude”
In addition to May 10, the Prime Minister announced that May 16 will be observed as a “Day of Gratitude” to offer thanks to Allah and to honor the dedication of the Pakistani military. This day will include special prayers and Nawafil to express thankfulness for the victory and to pray for the continued strength and prosperity of the country.
The Prime Minister urged the nation to come together in spiritual unity, recognizing the divine help that contributed to the successful outcome of the operation. He called on citizens to remember this victory as a moment of both national and spiritual triumph.

Operation Bunyān al-Marsūs stands as a powerful reminder of Pakistan’s strength, unity, and capability to defend its people. وزیراعظم شہباز شریف نے پاکستان کی مسلح افواج کی شاندار کامیابی پر ہر سال 10 مئی کو یومِ معرکہ حق منانے کا اعلان کر دیا ہے۔ یہ دن آپریشن بنیان المرصوص کی کامیابی کی یادگار کے طور پر منایا جائے گا، جو بھارت کی جارحیت کے جواب میں پاکستان کی جانب سے ایک بھرپور اور مؤثر کارروائی تھی۔ اس آپریشن کے ذریعے دشمن کے اہم دفاعی نظام کو تباہ کر دیا گیا، جس نے ملک بھر میں قومی فخر اور یکجہتی کا جذبہ بیدار کیا۔
بھارتی جارحیت کا منہ توڑ جواب
بھارت کی مسلسل اشتعال انگیزی اور شہری آبادی کو نشانہ بنانے کے بعد پاکستان نے آپریشن بنیان المرصوص کا آغاز کیا، جو 10 مئی کو کامیابی کے ساتھ مکمل ہوا۔ یہ کارروائی 22 اپریل سے 9 مئی کے درمیان ہونے والی جھڑپوں کا تسلسل تھی، جنہیں اب “معرکہ حق” کا نام دیا گیا ہے۔ 10 مئی کی کارروائی ایک فیصلہ کن جواب تھی، جس میں پاکستانی افواج نے دشمن کی جارحیت کا مؤثر اور واضح جواب دیا۔
آئی ایس پی آر کے مطابق یہ آپریشن بھارت کی بلااشتعال کارروائیوں اور پاکستانی شہریوں کے بے رحمانہ قتل کے خلاف انصاف اور بدلے کے عزم کے ساتھ کیا گیا تھا۔ پاکستان کی مسلح افواج نے عوام سے کیا گیا اپنا وعدہ پورا کر دکھایا۔ افواج پاکستان نے دشمن کے عزائم خاک میں ملا کر ملک و قوم کا سر فخر سے بلند کر دیا۔
قومی اتحاد اور افواج پاکستان کو خراج تحسین
وزیراعظم شہباز شریف نے اپنے بیان میں کہا کہ یومِ معرکہ حق ہر سال قومی جوش و جذبے اور ملی وحدت کے ساتھ منایا جائے گا۔ انہوں نے پاکستانی افواج کی پیشہ ورانہ مہارت، شجاعت اور قربانیوں کو زبردست الفاظ میں خراج تحسین پیش کیا۔ وزیراعظم نے کہا کہ یہ دن نہ صرف ہماری عسکری کامیابی کی علامت ہے بلکہ اس سے قوم کا حوصلہ، اتحاد اور اپنی سرزمین سے محبت کا جذبہ بھی اجاگر ہوتا ہے۔
وزیراعظم نے یہ بھی واضح کیا کہ ملک کو درپیش چیلنجز کے باوجود پاکستان کی بہادر افواج ہر وقت قوم کے دفاع کے لیے تیار ہیں، اور قوم کو ان پر مکمل اعتماد ہے۔
16 مئی کو یوم تشکر کے طور پر منانے کا اعلان
وزیراعظم نے اس موقع پر اعلان کیا کہ 16 مئی کو یوم تشکر کے طور پر منایا جائے گا، جس دن اللہ کے حضور سجدہ شکر بجا لایا جائے گا۔ اس دن ملک بھر میں خصوصی نوافل ادا کیے جائیں گے، اور دعا کی جائے گی کہ پاکستان ترقی، امن اور خوشحالی کی راہ پر گامزن رہے۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ قوم اللہ تعالیٰ کی مدد و نصرت پر شکر گزار ہے اور یہ دن ان لمحوں کی یاد دلاتا ہے جب اللہ نے اپنے بندوں کو فتح اور عزت سے نوازا۔
قومی وقار اور طاقت کی علامت
آپریشن بنیان المرصوص نہ صرف دشمن کی جارحیت کا منہ توڑ جواب تھا بلکہ یہ پاکستان کی عسکری و قومی صلاحیتوں کا عملی مظاہرہ بھی تھا۔ 10 مئی کو یومِ معرکہ حق کے طور پر منانے کا فیصلہ قوم کو اپنے شہداء، غازیوں اور افواج پاکستان کی قربانیوں کو یاد رکھنے کا موقع دے گا، اور یہ دن ہمیشہ ہماری قومی تاریخ میں ایک روشن باب کے طور پر زندہ رہے گا۔
