In a shocking incident, a peace event held at a Reform Jewish synagogue in Ra’anana, Israel, was violently disrupted by far-right extremists. The gathering, which aimed to promote peace and understanding between Israelis and Palestinians, ended in chaos as the attackers stormed the venue, injuring several attendees and police officers.
The event was organized by two well-known peace organizations, “Combatants for Peace” and “The Parents Circle – Families Forum.” Around 80 people were present at the synagogue, where a video screening was being shown to commemorate Israeli and Palestinian victims and foster mutual respect and dialogue. The peaceful nature of the event, however, was met with hatred and aggression from a mob of extremist protesters.
Dozens of attackers, many carrying Israeli flags, gathered outside the Reform synagogue, chanting hostile slogans such as “Go to Gaza” and “All Arabs are prostitutes.” They vandalized property, set fires, and eventually forced their way inside the building. Once inside, they assaulted attendees—kicking, slapping, spitting on them, and throwing stones. One woman reported being hit on the head with a rock, while another man said his sister’s car, although parked inside the synagogue compound, was smashed with stones.
The violence continued outside the building as the police struggled to control the mob. Officers managed to escort attendees out in small groups for safety, but many of their vehicles were attacked and damaged by the protesters. Despite the presence of law enforcement, the scale of the assault raised serious questions about the preparedness and response of the police force.
According to police reports, at least four police officers and three attendees were injured during the incident. Three of the attackers were arrested on the spot and taken in for questioning. Authorities confirmed that they would be seeking extended remand for the suspects involved in the violent outburst.
Israeli Member of Parliament and Reform Rabbi Gilad Kariv condemned the attack, calling it an organized and deliberate assault. He criticized the police for not providing adequate security despite being warned about potential threats in advance. His concerns were echoed by many in the community who believe that law enforcement failed to protect citizens attending a peaceful event.
Adding fuel to the fire, local Likud party leader Racheli Ben Ari Saquet defended the attackers and said, “This is only the beginning.” Her controversial statement received immediate backlash from peace activists and community leaders who denounced her stance as promoting hatred and division.
Despite the violence, the organizers of the peace event remained firm in their mission. They reiterated their commitment to continuing efforts for justice, peace, and mutual respect between Israelis and Palestinians. In the face of rising extremism, they called on others to join them in standing against hate and promoting a more inclusive future.
This incident highlights the growing tensions within Israeli society and the challenges faced by those who advocate for reconciliation. While the attack aimed to silence voices of peace, it has instead amplified the urgency of continuing the fight against hatred and division.

اس تشدد کے دوران پولیس اہلکاروں کی موجودگی کے باوجود صورتحال قابو سے باہر ہو گئی۔ پولیس نے شرکاء کو چھوٹے گروپوں کی صورت میں عبادت گاہ سے باہر نکالا اور انہیں اپنی حفاظت میں لے گئی، لیکن مظاہرین نے باہر کھڑی گاڑیوں پر بھی حملہ کر دیا اور کئی گاڑیوں کو نقصان پہنچایا۔ ایک شخص نے بتایا کہ اس کی بہن کی گاڑی اندر موجود ہونے کے باوجود پتھروں سے توڑ دی گئی۔
اس واقعے میں 4 پولیس اہلکار اور 3 شرکاء زخمی ہوئے جبکہ 3 حملہ آوروں کو گرفتار کر لیا گیا۔ پولیس نے اعلان کیا کہ گرفتار افراد سے تفتیش جاری ہے اور ان کے ریمانڈ میں توسیع کے لیے عدالت سے رجوع کیا جائے گا۔ تاہم واقعے سے متعلق سیکیورٹی اقدامات پر شدید تنقید کی گئی، خاص طور پر ان ربی اور اسرائیلی رکن پارلیمنٹ کی جانب سے جنہوں نے اسے ایک مکمل منصوبہ بند حملہ قرار دیا۔
