Just as tensions between Pakistan and India had started to ease, hopes for peace were once again dashed when India violated a recently signed ceasefire agreement. Only a few hours after both nations agreed to halt military action along the Line of Control (LoC), India initiated unprovoked firing, intensifying the situation in the already volatile region.
According to official reports, Indian forces launched a series of unprovoked attacks targeting civilian areas on the Pakistani side of the LoC. The sudden shelling caused injuries to several children, who were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. The violation came at a critical time when efforts were being made to reduce tensions that had persisted between the two nuclear-armed neighbors for weeks.
Local sources revealed that Indian troops targeted civilian settlements located as far as 20 kilometers from the LoC. The shelling primarily affected the Barnala and Chamb sectors, where intense bombardment damaged homes and spread panic among the residents. The residents of several villages, including Nali, Thub, and Patni, were left in fear as heavy shelling continued throughout the night.
The situation remains tense as Indian forces continue to bombard peaceful villages in the Barnala region with mortar shells. The unprovoked attacks have not only caused material losses but have also deeply traumatized local populations, many of whom are now forced to consider relocating to safer areas.
In response, Pakistani officials strongly condemned India’s actions, labeling them as a blatant violation of international law and an act of aggression. They stressed that such provocations undermine any chances of sustained peace in the region and pose a serious threat to regional stability. Pakistan has called on the international community to take immediate notice and hold India accountable for escalating the situation despite a formal ceasefire agreement.
This recent breach is not an isolated incident. India has a history of violating ceasefire agreements, and this latest act has only added to the list. The timing of the attack—so soon after the signing of a peace agreement—suggests a lack of commitment to long-term stability and raises serious concerns about India’s intentions in the region.
The fear now is that if these violations continue, the fragile peace may collapse entirely, potentially leading to a wider conflict between two nuclear-armed nations. The international community, particularly peace-brokering organizations, must intervene promptly to prevent the situation from spiraling out of control.
In the face of continued Indian aggression, Pakistan has vowed to protect its people and territory while maintaining its commitment to peace. However, the repeated violations by India are testing the limits of that patience and threaten to push the region into yet another cycle of conflict and uncertainty.
پاکستان اور بھارت کے درمیان جاری کشیدگی میں معمولی کمی کے آثار دکھائی دیے ہی تھے کہ بھارت کی جانب سے ایک بار پھر جنگ بندی معاہدے کی خلاف ورزی کرکے صورتحال کو مزید خراب کر دیا گیا۔ چند گھنٹے قبل دونوں ممالک نے ایک ’’جنگ بندی معاہدہ‘‘ کیا تھا جس کا مقصد لائن آف کنٹرول (ایل او سی) پر قیامِ امن کو یقینی بنانا تھا۔ تاہم بھارت نے اس معاہدے پر عمل درآمد کرنے کے بجائے محض چند گھنٹوں بعد ہی اس کی خلاف ورزی کرتے ہوئے بلا اشتعال فائرنگ کا آغاز کر دیا۔
تازہ اطلاعات کے مطابق بھارتی افواج نے ایل او سی پر واقع پاکستانی علاقوں کو نشانہ بنایا۔ بھارتی بلا اشتعال فائرنگ کے نتیجے میں متعدد بچے زخمی ہو گئے جنہیں فوری طور پر قریبی ہسپتال منتقل کیا گیا۔ فائرنگ کا یہ واقعہ اس وقت پیش آیا جب دونوں ممالک کے درمیان کئی دنوں کی کشیدگی کے بعد وقتی طور پر امن قائم ہونے کی امید پیدا ہوئی تھی، لیکن بھارت کی جانب سے کیے گئے اس حملے نے ایک بار پھر پورے خطے کو غیر یقینی صورتحال میں دھکیل دیا ہے۔
مقامی ذرائع نے بتایا ہے کہ بھارتی فوج کی جانب سے نہ صرف سرحدی چوکیوں پر بلکہ آبادی سے تقریباً 20 کلومیٹر دور دیہاتی علاقوں کو بھی نشانہ بنایا جا رہا ہے۔ برنالہ اور چھمب سیکٹرز میں شدید گولہ باری کی گئی جس سے متعدد دیہات متاثر ہوئے۔ اس گولہ باری کی زد میں آکر کئی مکانات کو نقصان پہنچا جبکہ عوام میں شدید خوف و ہراس پھیل گیا ہے۔
بھارتی افواج کی جانب سے تحصیل برنالہ کے پرامن دیہات پر بلا اشتعال مارٹر شیلنگ کی گئی۔ نالی، تھب، پتنی اور گردونواح کے علاقوں میں شدید گولہ باری کی اطلاعات موصول ہوئی ہیں۔ ان علاقوں میں رہائش پذیر افراد کو شدید خطرات کا سامنا ہے اور کئی خاندان اپنے گھروں کو چھوڑنے پر مجبور ہو گئے ہیں۔ اس جارحیت کے نتیجے میں انسانی جانوں کو خطرہ لاحق ہو گیا ہے جبکہ خطے میں امن و امان کی صورتحال مزید خراب ہو چکی ہے۔
پاکستانی حکام نے اس بھارتی اقدام کو بین الاقوامی قوانین کی خلاف ورزی قرار دیا ہے اور عالمی برادری سے مطالبہ کیا ہے کہ وہ اس سنگین صورتحال کا نوٹس لے۔ پاکستان نے اس حملے کے خلاف بھرپور احتجاج ریکارڈ کراتے ہوئے عالمی اداروں کو آگاہ کیا ہے کہ بھارت کی جانب سے کیے گئے ایسے اقدامات خطے میں امن کو شدید خطرے میں ڈال سکتے ہیں۔
جنگ بندی معاہدوں کی خلاف ورزی کوئی نئی بات نہیں، تاہم بھارت کی اس تازہ ترین حرکت نے یہ ثابت کر دیا ہے کہ وہ امن کے کسی بھی معاہدے پر سنجیدگی سے عمل پیرا ہونے کو تیار نہیں۔ ایسے میں خطے میں قیام امن کے امکانات مزید معدوم ہوتے دکھائی دے رہے ہیں اور خدشہ ہے کہ اگر صورتحال اسی طرح برقرار رہی تو یہ کشیدگی ایک بڑے تصادم میں بھی تبدیل ہو سکتی ہے۔
