اریج چودھری کے مطابق مس پاکستان ورلڈ جیسے مقابلوں میں صرف چہرے کی خوبصورتی ہی فیصلہ کن نہیں ہوتی۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ اکثر لوگ یہ سمجھتے ہیں کہ مقابلہ حسن میں صرف ظاہری حُسن کو ترجیح دی جاتی ہے، لیکن حقیقت اس کے برعکس ہے۔ انہوں نے بتایا کہ مقابلے کے شرکاء کو مختلف ٹاسک دیے جاتے ہیں، جنہیں مکمل کرنا لازمی ہوتا ہے۔ یہ ٹاسک ان کی صلاحیت، فلاحی جذبے اور عوامی خدمت کے رجحان کا امتحان ہوتے ہیں۔
فلاحی کاموں کی بنیاد پر انتخاب
مس پاکستان ورلڈ کے انتخاب کے حوالے سے اریج چودھری نے واضح کیا کہ تقریباً 80 فیصد نمبرات امیدوار کی فلاحی سرگرمیوں پر دیے جاتے ہیں۔ یعنی یہ دیکھا جاتا ہے کہ امیدوار نے اپنے ملک یا کمیونٹی کے لیے کتنا کام کیا ہے اور سماجی سطح پر اس کی شراکت کیا رہی ہے۔ اس ضمن میں امیدواروں کو مخصوص وقت بھی دیا جاتا ہے تاکہ وہ عملی طور پر فلاحی منصوبوں میں حصہ لے سکیں اور اپنی خدمات کا مظاہرہ کریں۔ جو امیدوار جتنا مؤثر طریقے سے یہ ٹاسک مکمل کرتا ہے، اتنے ہی زیادہ نمبرات حاصل کرتا ہے۔
اریج چودھری کا مثبت رویہ اور اعتماد
انٹرویو کے دوران اریج چودھری کا رویہ اعتماد اور خندہ پیشانی سے بھرپور تھا۔ انہوں نے یہ تسلیم کیا کہ جب بھی کوئی پبلک فگر کامیابی حاصل کرتا ہے تو اسے تنقید کا سامنا بھی کرنا پڑتا ہے۔ لیکن ان کے مطابق، ایسی تنقید کو منفی لینے کے بجائے، مثبت انداز میں لینا چاہیے کیونکہ یہ سیکھنے اور بہتر بننے کا موقع دیتی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ وہ خود پر کی جانے والی تنقید کو اپنی اصلاح کے لیے استعمال کرتی ہیں اور اس میں بہتری کی گنجائش دیکھتی ہیں۔
